How oil helps a beard
Beard hair is coarse and the skin beneath dries out fast — that is what causes itch, flakes and a wiry look. A light daily oil softens the hair, moisturises the skin, and a couple of actives (like diluted rosemary) support circulation to the follicle. The result is a softer, fuller, better-behaved beard.
Patchy beard? Set expectations
Oil improves the beard you can grow; it will not fill genuinely bald patches caused by genetics. Used daily, though, it makes thin areas look denser and keeps the hair you do have healthy and growing its best.
The best oils for beard growth
1. Brewoil Beard Oil
A purpose-made lightweight blend — conditions, softens and tames in seconds, ideal for daily use straight after a shower.
2. Castor Oil
Thick and conditioning, traditionally used to make beard hair look denser and feel stronger. Best mixed with a lighter oil so it does not sit greasy.
3. Jojoba Oil
Closest to skin’s own sebum — absorbs cleanly, hydrates the skin under the beard and never feels heavy. Great for sensitive or acne-prone faces.
4. Argan Oil
Vitamin-E-rich and fast-absorbing — adds softness and a healthy sheen without grease, perfect as a finishing oil.
5. Rosemary Essential Oil
Diluted into a carrier, supports follicle circulation — a useful add-on for thin or slow-growing patches.
How to use
After washing your face, put 3–6 drops in your palm, rub hands together and massage through the beard and into the skin underneath. Daily is fine. If using castor or rosemary, blend a small amount into jojoba or argan rather than applying neat.
